EDITIONS DE PARFUMS FREDERIC MALLE Victor Hugo

140, Avenue Victor Hugo, 75116
Although all the Editions de Parfums boutiques share the same mission, Frederic Malle wanted to avoid cookie-cutter replications of his first shop, allowing the company to evolve with each new point of sale. For his second Paris store, Malle asked Patrick Naggar to imagine a new retail space in which form is dictated by function and where there are stylistic clins d’oeil to the work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. An olfactive machine with 18 stations for sampling the fragrances – also patented – is built into the right wall. Just like the “smelling columns” this new instrument is designed to be for perfume what a mirror is for clothing: to show the customer the trail that the fragrance would leave when she wears it.
